A Client Profile is a useful tool to help professionals decide which services are both safe and beneficial for
each client. It protects the client from services that may be harmful to the client and their current condition.
You may ask,"How is that so?"
Answer: The information provided by clients on A Client Profile alerts the professional which nail services that they offer will be the most safest. It asks the client to list their
current and or past health problem and or condition and current and or past skin problem and or condition.
Some examples of health problems or and conditions asked to be listed would be: diabetes, hypertension, heart condition, pregnancy.
This information is important because some nail care services may threaten the client's condition and or worsen his or her health condition. Example: Massage may cause undue stress and or worsen the client's health condition.
The professional would explain to the client what nail care service would be safer for the client and or explain that the particular nail care service would have to be omitted for their protection.
On the other hand clients with arthritis may benefit from a leg massage because it helps circulate the blood and may provide relief for their condition.
Some examples of skin problems and or conditions asked to be listed would be: eczema, athletes foot, allergies, ringworm.
This information is important because some nail care products may threaten the client's
skin condition and or worsen his or her condition or a client may have a skin condition that is contagious and can be spread person to person.
Example: Food allergies-some skin
care products contain peanuts and or nuts and this may pose a serious problem for clients allergic to nuts.
Another example: Ringworm is a contagious skin condition. Also, it asks the client to list his or her occupation. This is important because it tells the professional that one type of nail service example: long length enhancements may not be realistic if the client is a gardener or a chef.
Not all nail care services are safe for a client with a present condition. A Manicurist must recognize the needs of each client and act accordingly. Also, it is their responsibility to encourage their client to seek medical treatment and or care if they are currently experiencing a medical condition or skin problem.
Educating a client is key. Properly caring for a client is essential. Both of these elements create a powerful bond between the Manicurist and his or her client.
Doesn't it feel good when you have a caring professional working to make sure you are getting the best?
I think so.
Note: A Client Profile also asks each client to list their address, contact information, emergency contacts, hobbies or activities and other information. No two Client Profiles are formatted the same but a complete profile would ask at least all mentioned throughout this blog.
ALL INFORMATION IS CONFIDENTIAL IN A CLIENT PROFILE.
